What are the benefits of extending?
A simple dormer loft conversion adds around 25sqm and a full back addition can add up to a whopping extra 40sqm. Loft conversions can give you two additional bedrooms and a bathroom. A kitchen extension can transform into the hub of your house with open plan living space with lots of natural light.
How much will it cost?
Depending on the type of property, a loft conversion can be done from £40K for a simple dormer to £60K for an L-shape full back addition. Kitchen extensions start at £50K onwards for a side infill and up to £65K for a wrap around. If you go the bespoke route and opt for glass roof, aluminium glazing, underfloor heating, costs could go up.
How long does the process take?
Initial design and planning submission can be done in two to four weeks. Planning decision takes eight weeks. The build phase usually lasts between eight to 12 weeks, depending on the complexity of the project.
