Be Richmond’s paddleboard and river clean up event is back. The Get On Board: Say no to plastic pollution campaign takes place this year on 9 September, with the course running from Kew Bridge to River Lane in Richmond, picking up litter on the way. It’s a great community event, as well as being a way of highlighting the problem of plastic pollution in our rivers. If you don’t fancy getting on the water, you can join others litter-picking along the towpath. The Thames is one of our greatest assets and it’s so sad to see how much litter is just dropped without a second thought for the wildlife and beauty of the area.
