Barnes BookFest
Miriam Margolyes, Frank Gardner, Abi Daré and Robert Harris are among the writers at this year’s Barnes Bookfest (22-24 September)
Barnes BookFest returns to Barnes this autumn, 20-22 September, for its fourth year. This literary festival brings together some of Britain’s best-known writers from all genres in an exciting weekend programme. Authors will be running speaker events on a wide range of topics in their field, as well as commenting on current affairs, the natural world, poetry, their lives and more.
Who will be there?
This year’s Festival is joined by names such as best-selling author, Robert Harris, talking with Simon Heffer about his new thriller, Precipice; national poet Roger McGough and BBC security correspondent and author, Frank Gardner. Internationally best-selling novelist, Abi Daré talks about her latest book, And So I Roar, which continues the story of Adunni, a young runaway in Nigeria who seeks a better future. Her first book, The Girl with the Louding Voice, was critically acclaimed worldwide and loved by readers such as Malala Yousafzai, Dolly Parton and Maggie O’Farrell.
The inimitable Miriam Margolyes will join fellow actress, Patricia Hodge, to share stories from her ribald memoir, Oh Miriam! Shocking tales? Surely not…
