22 September
Barnes resident Gyles Brandreth brings his charm and wit to St Mary’s Church, Barnes. Brandreth – a former MP, now widely known as a One Show reporter, a regular on R4’s Just A Minute, and for his best-selling word-lover’s book, Have You Eaten, Grandma? – is sharing his love of poetry in his latest book, Dancing by the Light of the Moon. The book is a celebration of much-loved poems and a unique guide to the value and power of learning poetry by heart.
The show is a warm and funny look at poetry – whether it’s humorous, sad or moving – and is designed to lift your spirits, whilst encouraging you to keep using your memory by memorising lines.
A signed copy of Dancing by the Light of the Moon comes with every ticket. Single tickets £20, double tickets £30. Tickets are available from Barnes Bookshop and ticketsource.co.uk/stmarybarnes
