Hammersmith Bridge… locals are tired of waiting. It’s now been more than six months since the full closure of Hammersmith Bridge and locals are no closer to knowing when any sort of decision may be made on at least a temporary way of crossing the river. Residents are having to make long round trips using Putney or Kew Bridges to travel. An independent group, Hammersmith SOS, has been set up to have a collective local voice. They have put posters near the bridge (you may see them only briefly as they are regularly being removed) asking locals to support them. Once the latest lockdown ends and children can return to school, traffic in surrounding areas, such as East Sheen, is once again going to be gridlocked. hammersmithbridgesos.co.uk
