Hub of Hope: This is a sign
Hub of Hope – the UK’s largest mental-health support directory – now has prominent signage at Mortlake station. The signs, marked clearly and including QR codes, link travellers to a comprehensive directory of local, regional and national mental-health services. Installed in November in partnership with the rail industry and charity partners, the initiative makes crucial mental-health contact information immediately accessible at the station.
By offering reassurance and a simple path to help – whether someone is in crisis or just needs support – the signage aims to lower barriers to seeking help at a moment it may matter most.
In 2024-25, there were 293 suicides or suspected suicides on the UK mainline and London Underground network – a tragic reminder of the importance of mental-health support at railway stations. hubofhope.co.uk
