On what is a busy junction in Sheen, a little area of calm has been created on Milestone Green – the small paved area which pedestrianised at the crossroads in May last year. TfL temporarily blocked it to traffic to enable locals to enjoy a cup of coffee whilst still socialising distancing. While it’s hoped it will soon be no longer necessary to stay distanced, locals hope the area can remain car-free. The Milestone dates from 1751 and marks 10 miles from Cornhill in the City of London.
