Kew Midsummer Fete: 20 June on Kew Green
Kew Midsummer Fete is back for its 15th year on Kew Green. Save the date – 20 June – and come for a wonderful day out!
Kew Midsummer Fete is a mainstay on the South West London calendar – a much-loved part of the local community. It brings locals and visitors from across London and Surrey together for a brilliant day out, as well as raising much needed funds for local charities. We are proud to have now raised more than £240,000 since we started as a small group of volunteers in 2010.
Fabulous stalls
There will be around 90 outside stalls, selling a wonderful range of goodies from paintings to plants, scarves to scones, jewellery to jams and cards to cushions. Inside the marquee there will be a further 25 stalls, full of exquisite original items including jewellery, frames, ceramics, candles, bags and clothing.
The food court
We have a fantastic range of fabulous food this year. Plus, there will be the traditional tea tent, where you can sit down and relax with a cuppa and a cream cake.
Great attractions
The historic Victorian fairground rides are back for another year, including the colourful Carousel of gallopers, the Flying Chair-O-Plane and, for fearless tots, the Merry-Go-Round of vintage vehicles.
Stage stars
There will be a full day of entertainment on the stage, including local bands, choirs and organisations, with a few show acts thrown in.
Dog days
The Dog Show is always a key part of the Fete, with locals keen to show off their favourite pooch. Once again, a celebrity will kindly be judging this year’s winners! Still currently a secret, you’ll find out on the day who will be picking our champions. Registration 12-2.30pm and the show starts at 3pm.
Tug of War
The Tug of War Tournament is a great event to watch, with both children and adults joining in the tugging fun. You can put a team of six together in advance or just turn up on the day.
Calling all local charities
All profits from Kew Midsummer Fete are donated to local charities. If you are a local charity and would like to apply for a donation, complete the application form on the website.
An environmentally sustainable Fete
We are keen to be as environmentally sustainable as possible. We would love it if you could bring your own reusable drinking bottles and water and bring a few bags to take your goodies home with you. And travel by foot – parking restrictions around the green mean there is less space to park, so do walk!
