Mortlake: Petition against gridlocked roads
A petition arguing that public transport on the roads of East Sheen, Mortlake, Barnes, and Kew is not good enough for the local area – particularly in light of the huge new developments being given the go ahead – has been signed by than 1000 Richmond residents. The petition calls for Richmond Council and the Mayor of London – who gave the green light for the developments – appoint an independent transport consultant to look at the affect these new developments will have on the local area. The developments include the former Homebase site on Manor Road, Kew Retail Park, Barnes Hospital and the biggest, the old brewery (read more about the brewery on pg 14). Once all these places are developed how are our local roads going to cope?
