Richmond & Twickenham Photographic Society Exhibition
We have many wonderful photographers in Richmond, each with their unique skills to capture the world around them – and particularly the local area. Many of them are exhibiting at the annual Richmond & Twickenham Photographic Society exhibition in April.
The exhibition includes a fascinating array of more than 500 photographs, ranging from wildlife to portraiture, landscape, fine art and street photography.
One of the highlights of this year’s exhibition will be Richmond Seen – a celebration of Richmond and the local area. This wonderful display will showcase a selection of members’ photographs from across the borough, whether it’s a fresh take on some of the more familiar places or an unexpected view of some hidden gems.
Leading photographer and RTPS member, Simon Street, will be displaying some of his latest work. Simon has gained an unprecedented 10 Fellowships from The Royal Photographic Society – their highest distinction. Simon’s striking black and white images were a highlight of the 2023 exhibition.
The Royal Photographic Society’s Visual Arts Group will once again be joining forces with RTPS and making a return with a selection of their work.
RTPS is a friendly group of photography enthusiasts who meet every Thursday evening in Kew, where they enjoy a varied programme of talks from leading photographers. There are also monthly special interest groups, across a range of genres, where members can learn specific skills and techniques and exchange ideas, whilst supporting each other.

Curated Tours Sun 21: 11.30am & Weds 24 Apr: 11.30am Join a tour of the exhibition and gain a deeper appreciation of the art of photography, with judges Rosemary Wilman and Jay Charnock
Creative Smartphone Photography Sat 20 Apr: 10.30am – 12pm Photographers Jocelyn Horsfall and Amanda Day will be demonstrating how to use a selection of Apps, so that you can create images mobile phone images which are original, expressive and artistic.
Learn From a Master Sat 27 Apr: 2.30 – 2.50pm Gain insight into what makes a powerful and though-provoking photograph with RTPS member, Simon Street
New Members Event Sun 28 Apr: 2.30pm The club offers a varied programme of talks from leading photographers as well as get togethers for specialists groups.
