Teenager, Elizabeth Pass, has had her first song released thanks to winning a Young Songwriter’s Competition
Elizabeth Pass has always loved music. She is a member of the Richmond Music Trust and Powerjam, a Twickenham based non-profit rock and band organisation, led by music industry professionals, for children aged 9-18.
To encourage children during lockdown, Powerjam offered local songwriters a chance to professionally record and release a song – a session worth £1000.
‘My music teacher encouraged me to enter – I didn’t really believe that anything would come out of it – it was a completely unexpected surprise,’ she says.
Powerjam offers young musicians the opportunity to form a band or develop their music, providing a place to rehearse and gig, as well as market their music on streaming platforms.
Elizabeth, who lives in Barnes and was a pupil at Richmond Park Academy when she won aged 15, loved the whole process. You can hear her song, Now I’m Falling on all streaming channels, including Spotify.
