The council is in consultations about creating a new park by Putney Embankment, knows as Waterman’s Green. The Council envisions new planting and shrubs where the current Tideway tunnel works are. Whilst some trees may need to be removed, the se will be relocated or replaced and the large London Plane will stay. It is also hoped to have a living green roof on the Tideway kiosk. The idea is to encourage more locals on the high street to make the most of living by the river.
There are also ongoing consultations to build new piers on the Embankment by Putney Bridge. There have been objections to the proposals by two companies in the running, Livett’s Launches and Thames Clipper, with members of local rowing clubs being largely against current plans.
