Excess solar power can be stored for times of peak demand. Batteries with a backup function also enable homes to keep running in the event of Grid outages,’ says Helen.
What’s more, it’s a good time to invest in solar. There is 0% VAT on new installations, better technology, improved industry standards and opportunities to earn money by exporting excess energy to the Grid. The payback time is now shorter than ever with current high energy prices.
‘Solar is silent, simple and unobtrusive. Panels typically have a lifespan of 25+ years and the system can be combined with other energy technologies, such as immersion heaters and heat pumps, for increased efficiency.
