Barnes BookFest is returning to Barnes this autumn from the 22nd-24th September for the third year running. This literary festival brings together some of Britain’s best-known writers from all genres in an exciting weekend programme. Beloved authors will be running speaker events on a wide range of topics in their field, as well as commenting on current affairs, the natural world, poetry, mental health and more.
This year’s Barnes BookFest is joined by top selling non-fiction authors such as Anne Glenconner, Matt Frei, Ferdinand Mount, Leo McKinstry, and Oliver Soden to name a few.
In conversation with Gyles Brandreth, Anne Glenconner touches on living within the Royal Family as the lady-in-waiting to Princess Margaret for over 30 years. Her new book, Whatever Next? delves into her extraordinary career, life growing up in Mustique and the joy and tragedy of motherhood.
Only in America author, Matt Frei, shares his expertise on the most pressing issues in current affairs, using his insight as Europe editor and presenter for Channel 4 News.
Bookfest also welcomes filmmaker and fiction writer, Hannah Rothschild, off the back of her recently published third novel, the satirical and immensely witty High Time, along with renowned poet, William Seighart, to talk about his new anthology The Poetry Pharmacy Forever: New Prescriptions to Soothe, Revive and Inspire.
