Christmas Day Lunch for Care Leavers – please help!
Providing a magical Christmas Day for local care-experienced young adults in Richmond. Do something lovely – buy a gift for a young person who has left care and has no family at Christmas, or donate to those who are giving them the best Christmas Day
Now in its 9th year, Cocoon Christmas Day will be hosting a Christmas Day event for 50 care-experienced young adults, aged between 18 and 25-years-old from Richmond, Kingston and Hounslow. Without this event, they would be spending the day alone as they do not have family they can spend it with. Young adults who have grown up in care, (foster care, children’s homes, supported lodgings) can feel very isolated, and this is magnified at Christmas time. The guest list is already full and there are 25 volunteers helping to host the day.
Now we need to make sure they have enough gifts to fill the present sacks and funds to pay for all the essentials!
