Look up while you’re walking down Putney High St to see artwork by 20 Putney-based artists installed on lamppost banners. The works ‘celebrate the vibrancy, optimism and resilience of Wandsworth’ as locals return to the high street. The outdoor art project, by Wandsworth Art, is showcasing the work of 120 artists across the borough and was set up after events such as Wandsworth Artists Open House had to be cancelled last year due to the pandemic. The aim is to turn local high streets into art galleries, with contemporary paintings, traditional portraiture, photography and conceptual art, sculpture and illustration.
