Remember the Future at Orleans House Gallery explores how our relationship with nature has become damaged and how we can renew the connection for the future
Orleans House Gallery is hosting a number of artists over the coming six months, all of whom are renowned for their work on environmental issues and, through the gallery and surrounding grounds, will be looking at our connection with nature in the light of the current ecological crisis.
The exhibition kicks off with visual artists Ackroyd & Harvey (18 May – 18 July), who will focuson the stories held in the ancestry of the Cedar of Lebanon tree, one of which stands in the grounds. From 22 July, Bryony Benge-Abbott, will explore how the practice of drawing nature can evoke a deeper bond with our habitat and help us to fully inhabit our world. From 3 August, Vicky Long and Eloise Moody will examine the role that humans play in the ecosystem and what legacy we are leaving.
Remembering the Future is part of the three-year Cultural Reforesting project by the Gallery. There will also be a series of talks and workshops.
