Based on The House of Bernada Alba by Federico Garcia Lorca, Margaret Lawless’s adaption gives a detailed look at the titular character’s flawed humanity. Bernarda, living in exiled isolation in her house is a domineering and unhinged matriarch. Her four daughters are forbidden from interacting with the local community, but when the youngest daughter falls in love, her embittered sister threatens to reveal all and tragedy looms over the house.
