The placement of water barriers along Kew Road, which were put in as a temporary solution to help ensure the cycle lane was protected from traffic as Kew Gardens re-opened, have been given an extension. The move is part of Richmond Council’s Post-Covid Transport Action Plan to help ensure safety for those using local roads and pavements and was made possible after the Council secured more than £250,000 in funding. The barriers can only stay in place for a maximum of 18 months, after which time the Council will need a permanent traffic order to keep them in place.
