The Vineyard Community Centre in Richmond has provided thousands of meals over the last year – but donations have slowed down so they need your help
The Richmond Foodbank and Vineyard Community centre have been helping hundreds of locals who have needed help over the past year. Many of these people have never been in the position before of needing to use a foodbank or ask for help. In 2020 the organisation delivered four times the normal amount of food compared to 2019, feeding 5,380 and distributing more than 82k of food.
Many are really struggling, but sadly the number of donations, which were high during the first lockdown, have fallen and they are in need of your support. The food is given to those in crisis, the homeless and rough sleepers, as well as clothing, if needed.

The Vineyard is a charity with community at its heart. They say: ‘We are dedicated to helping vulnerable individuals overcome personal crises, and the community at large build stronger bonds. It is staffed 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday, providing emergency assistance for people in crisis. We will continue to host outreach advice work from our partners including Glass Door, SPEAR and St Mungos, as well as offering our own case work support. Ruils charity needs help
Ruils is a local charity that supports children and adults with disability to live independently. They are also sending out food parcels and have made 3,600 befriending calls to those have been isolated. A donation of £5 per month will pay for a volunteer advocate to be trained.
