Enjoy a gourmet extravaganza at the Barnes Food Fair on Barnes Green – from delicious delicacies and masterclasses to food demos and live entertainment
The Barnes Food Fair is now in its 9th year and regularly attracts around 3,000 visitors, attracted by the fabulous offerings. There is an eclectic mix of street food on the outside stalls – a big enough range to suit every palate – while inside the marquee, a whole host of exhibitors will be selling unusual, organic and handmade specialities. Last year, Tripadvisor voted the Food Fair as one of the UK’s best September events.
New this year is the Barnes Community Association (BCA) Masterclass Tent, which has a full programme of hands-on classes run by favourite local businesses: Orange Pekoe will be hosting a cocktail masterclass, while The Ginger Pig can teach you how to carve up your meat with its butchery masterclass and Head Chef, Ian Salmon, from Rick Stein’s Barnes restaurant will be offering a shellfish masterclass. Other masterclasses include wine tasting, seasonal cooking, beer-making and canapies – see the website for full details.
As usual, there will be live music all day from a selection of local bands.
The Fair is organised by the BCA, a local charity, and is a fundraising event, sponsored by Savills, Barnes, and Gibson Young Solicitors.
You can buy entrance tickets and masterclass tickets online at barnes-ca.org/bca-events/barnes-food-fair. Entrance tickets are £5 in advance; all masterclass tickets are £10 each.
